Welcome to the site of FIH Sisters, Quilon.
Hi, we are the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Quilon. We welcome you to our web site. Be sure to check out all of our exciting ministries

The Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Quilon had its foundation in Pondicherry on 16th Oct.1844. The proud privilege of our Congregation is that, it is the First Indigenous Women Religious Congregation in the Continent of Asia.  The Founder of this Congregation is Rev. Fr. Louis Savinien Dupuis MEP, a French Missionary. Bishop Aloysius Maria Benziger, the Bishop of Quilon brought a convent of this Congregation to Quilon in the year 1907.   The first House was at Kanjiracode.  In 1947, the Congregation was divided into two different Congregations under the names Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pondicherry and Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Quilon.

"Mary, Mother of pilgrim humanity, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Keep us ever close to Jesus, your beloved Son and our brother, the Lord of life and glory".  Pope John Paul II
